Watching the opening ceremony and seeing military march past with armed soldiers. I don’t get it, Biya! Africa my Africa. How creative, modern and on-point with theme of event!
But overall, an impressive opening ceremony. That computer simulation of a giant lion, the pomp, colour and pageantry – a fitting intro to the first match. I just hope there won’t be too much of Coronavirus politics at play.

The competition is under way, Nigeria plays its first match tomorrow and we have 26 players in camp. Complete Sports, where is Jamilu Collins?
