AFCON 2021: ‘How Super Eagles Should Approach Game Against Sudan’  –Aghahowa

Former Nigeria international Julius Aghahowa has advised the Super Eagles to approach their second 2021 AFCON group game against Sudan exactly the way they did against Egypt.

The Eagles were impressive in their opening game against Egypt and deservedly won 1-0 thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho’s wonder strike.

They will now take on Sudan in their next fixture on Saturday and will be guaranteed qualification into the knockout stage of they win.

And Aghahowa, speaking on ‘No Holds Barred’ on Brila FM, urged the players to adopt the same approach which saw them outclass the Egyptians.

“The game against Sudan is not going to be a walk over, let everybody know that,” the AFCON 2000 silver medal winner said. ” Every team at this tournament have come to fight for themselves because this is the biggest stage in Africa to showcase what you can do and everybody will fight to the end.

“So I will advice the Eagles to approach the game the same way they approach the game against Egypt and with that way we are assured of victory. If they play the way they did the last time I am predicting 2-0 to Nigeria.”

Yes. Agreed with you. You were a very good example of a nice persona in your good days. Thank you for serving your Nation so well.

  • Taking it game by game is a good thing but what all soccer loving Nigerians expect from the current Eagles is to seek for revenge lift the trophy in Cameron same way they did in 2000 Afcon in our backyard. Nothing more Nothing less. We have not forgotten.

    • Eagles should take the match seriously. Sudan qualified for the tournament against all odds as underdogs. A tight defense and full concentration will see Nigeria through. Nigeria should forget the Egypt game that game has not given us the Cup, it should only be a motivation. What will be the benefit if we beat Egypt and lose to Sudan, football is full of surprises.
