AFCON 2023: Ivory Coast, Not Equatorial Guinea Under Pressure To Win –Micha

Equatorial Guinea coach, Juan Micha has insisted that Ivory Coast will come out to attack his team from the blast of the whistle in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group A game.

Recall that Equatorial Guinea are top of Group A on four points after beating Guinea-Bissau 4-2 last week Thursday while Ivory Coast lost 1-0 to the Super Eagles to sit third on three points.

With both teams set to face each other this evening, Micha in a chat with Cafonline, stated that the host are under pressure to win.

“It will be a very difficult match for both teams but more especially for Cote d’Ivoire because they are under pressure to win. We will approach the match in a calm manner.

“We will not wait. We know that they will come at us and open up which will allow us to surprise them at their own stadium. We know that they are under pressure and not us,” he declared.

Let me first of all thank the CSN for this update. However, pls go to Super Eagles camp and update us. How is there preparation and what is the coach, the players promising? Is it possible to get hold of Osimhen, Lookman, Nwabili?

Ivory Coast may be out of their own-hosted Afcon as they got mauled 4-0 by Equatorial Guinea. That means that despite Nigeria’s SE beating GB 1-0, EG tops the group with same 7 points as is Nigeria but with a far superior goal difference.
