AFCON 2023: Moffi Replaces Injured Boniface In Super Eagles’ Squad

OGC Nice forward Terem Moffi will take the place Victor Boniface in Super Eagles’ squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Boniface picked up a groin injury in training and has been ruled out of the 2023 AFCON finals.

The 23-year-old is expected to be sidelined for around with six weeks.

The former Union St Gilloise striker will now fly back to Germany to begin treatment on the injury.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will now await the approval of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to register Moffi for the AFCON.

The 24-year-old was a shock omission from the Super Eagles final squad.

He has scored four goals in 12 appearances for the three-time African champions.

This shows how poor coach Paseiro is, and he shouldn’t be in charge of the Super Eagles after the Afcon.

How would you leave Dessers and pick Moffi?

In terms of what? As far as the national team is concerned, Dessers is way ahead of Moffi and other strikers in the Super Eagles squad.

Paseiro will pay dearly for this because none of his strikers could convert their chances in yesterday match and no creative midfielder in the Super Eagles aside from Iwobi.

Now that Boniface is injured, Dessers is the best to replace him while Nwakali should replace Nacho if the gaffer knows what he is doing, but I think he doesn’t.

I do not wish Super Eagles bad luck in Ivory Coast, but the coach will definitely fumble soon because he has no idea what he’s doing at all. Fingers crossed. Good luck to you, Moffi. God bless Nigeria!!!

So guys like this dstv no go show afcon? Dstv wey na south african company no go show african tournament? Na wa o..na we africans dey do ourselves..

    • Dstv has many channels like nta, wazobia that startimes (which bought rights) also have that will show the matches.

Simple English: startimes will show all the matches and many “dstv free to air partner stations” are also on startimes so we go watch the matches wella

  • So Boniface would miss 6 weeks of Leverkusen possible march to glory? I am pained. I hope the club copes.

Forget patriotism. If CS could write “shock omission” on Moffi’s exclusion from the final list, he should have told his club to refuse the new invite 4 days to a major tournament.

Obviously, he’d only be useful as 10-minutes-to-go substitute when eagles would have been down and out.

Peserio never liked him in the first place.

I hope Nice will not bench him afterwards sha because ligue 1 already has 56 players heading to the AFCON.

It was a supporting league for Africans but with this exodus and Moffi making it 57….

When eagles would have been down and out?? I guarantee you will be disappointed. Do you actually think we won’t make it out of this group? Lmao! In 8 teams tournament we always make it out of the group talk less of a tournament that has the best third place finishers in the group stages going into the next round. Don’t forget that it was a third best team from one of the groups that knocked us out last time. Moffi is a good replacement as he was already in the initial 41 man list. Forget about the coach our players are not slouches.

      • AY the great. To be honest I am disappointed. I had thought my Iroko Tree Paul Onuachu would have been called instead.

With roots of goals and branches of emphatic headers, Onuachu is a good option. Plus his Afcon experience is invaluable.

Unfortunately we don’t have any Iroko Tree in the Super Eagles at this time because no one can match Onuachu’s height.

        • Deo and Onuachu love lol. I have just read that no club side is at liberty to release players for AFCON to any team anymore since the cup starts in a few days. Such window has passed according to soccer rules.

Pray Nigeria that your beloved Moffi is released by Nice.

“Hello Moffi, go to AFCON after being omitted initially and lose your first team listing here”.

Which one do you think he’d choose? Should he choose Nigeria where he is not guaranteed to start anyway?

@Ayphillydegreat:Thank you for putting that imposter Ghanaian Slymy in his place.
All he does with his cliques in this forum is to put our great Eagles down with every opportunity. They can pretend as much as they want but by their fruits we shall know them.

  • Now NFF will wait for CAF’s approval. Something that wouldn’t have been necessary if you had 27 players.

    – Boniface
    – Ndidi
    – Awoniyi
    – And possibly Iheanacho

Quality omissions we’ll miss their presence

  • Why Moffi why is this coach so predictable? is there no one more dynamic than Moffi. even Akor Adams is outscoring him in French Ligue 1, even Orban should be given his run out instead of Moffi. These Coaches and Nigerian football as a whole is very predictable and boring.

I TOLD YOU PEOPLE AHMED MUSA PRESENCE IS BAD LUCK AND WILL BRING BAD LUCK TO THIS TEAM NO ONE LISTENS. INSTEAD OF US BANDING TOGETHER TO VOICE OUR DISPLEASURE ABOUT HIS CONSTANT INVITE PEOPLE WILL SAY HIS EXPERIENCE IS VALUABLE MUSA PRESENCE IS UNJUST AND UNFAIR AND IF WE WANT MEDIOCRE THE FOOTBALL GODS WILL GIVE US MEDIOCRE.

WITH NDIDI AND BONIFACE OUT OUR TOURNAMENT IS OVER YOU PEOPLE SHOULD SAY WHAT YOU LIKE

NIGERIA’S TOURNAMENT IS OVER BEFORE IT STARTED AND THANKS TO AHMED MUSA FOR THAT.

    • MONKEY POST 4 months ago

LMAO! Musa isn’t bad luck when they trashed the hotel staff where they lodged in Dubai 12-0..lol. now all of a sudden musa is a badluck cos Guinea fowl defeated Guinea chickens.. sorry Guinea eagles sorry super chickens…oh what is wrong with me na..

      • Something is definitely wrong with you. lol

        • Machaveli 4 months ago

Monkeyass is a Ghanaian masquerading as a bonafide Nigerian which he would never be. Brethren. Stop responding to his physiological warfare post. He thinks he can break the Nigerian spirit with his malicious posts.

      • Did you think that 12-0 thrashing fooled me lol!.. I didn’t even know we played such a Match!.. Lol Make we see Na!! Ndidi Boniface injured and counting Oya Una Musa go teach una something this AFCON. But as usual Nigeria will not learn 2 months after AFCON Musa name will be included again for SA Qualifier and some dim wits will start supporting and justifying in When Musa is done with SE like I said a week ago If Nigeria is not ranked 140 in the World Call me a liar.

        • Dr. Drey 4 months ago

Nigeria does not need to be ranked 140th globally to call you a liar. No one on this forum does not already know you as one….Lmaooo.

Any lie you cannot tell does not exist.

You should have just told us another big lie that Musa went to camp with an axe and started smashing the legs of players so they get injured. Musa’s time as SE captain must be the 1st time players are getting in the national team….Lmaoo. He most likely must be the one injuring them at their clubs too….LMAOoo

oooooo Boy, what else can i say. This is the first time i would be scared to watch the Eagles play at the AFCON. This coach clearly has no clue of what he is doing. what exactly is stopping him taking 27 players to AFCON. Senegal, Ghana, Egypt and co all named 27 players. Why are we being stingy naming the full squad. Now we still not sure about Nacho and i can bet you, he will come and not be 70 percent fit. Fingers crossed, i hope this guys can do magic because have given up on the squad
