AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Have Potentials To Beat Ivory Coast –Okocha

Former Nigerian international, Austine Okocha has insisted that the Super Eagles have the potentials to overcome the host, Ivory Coast in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations..

Recall that Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by Equatorial Guinea in their opening clash, while Cote d’Ivoire triumphed to a 2-0 victory against Guinea-Bissau.

However, in a chat with Cafonline, the former PSG star stated that to be champion, the Super Eagles must be ready to beat the best.

“I think what the key will be experience, desire and state of mind. For me, they are professionals, and they know the importance of this match, I think their mindset will be the key,” the former midfielder told CAFonline.

“Absolutely! Every match is difficult but when you play the host country, it is even more difficult. But, of course the beauty of football is that if you want to be champions, you have to win against the best,” Okocha added.

“And as we know, in football, every match is difficult. If you are well prepared, you have a chance of winning your match. But, we Nigerians, we know that it will be a difficult match but also, we believe that we have enough potential to be able to win this match.”

If okocha can quickly come out of retirement and play against Cote D’Ivoire just for 15 minutes in the second half den eagles wil win

  • Having gone through the writeup, Okocha said the Super Eagles being professionals know what is at stake. My question, aren’t the ivorians professionals as well?

My brodaaaaa, jay jay is only being a hopeful Nigerian. No sane Nigerian would tell you Eagles will lose the match but the fact remains, we have an interesting game in few hours.

  • Na wa oo! Today’s match na hélélé o.

  • Okocha is spot on!
The senior national team normally have lowly rated sides difficult to deal with but once its a big footballing nation like Ghana, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco etc, you would see Eagles sprouting to the occasion. I predict 4:1 in our favor and i see Osimehn scoring hatrick.
