Samuel Chukwueze has returned to Italy for treatment after sustaining a hamstring injury in Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday three encounter against Libya.
Chukwueze replaced Frank Onyeka in the 61st minute of the encounter.
The pacy winger was denied an assist in the game after Ademola Lookman’s goal was controversially ruled out in the second half.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury towards the end of the keenly contested encounter.

The former Villarreal star failed to travel with his teammates to Benghazi for the reverse fixture on Sunday.
Chukwueze will be further assessed by the AC Milan medical team to ascertain the extent of the injury.
The Super Eagles will be up against the Mediterranean Knights in Benina on Tuesday.
A win in the game will see them qualify for the 2025 AFCON finals which will be hosted by Morocco.
