The beauty of this news is that Super Eagles need a draw from the two upcoming games to qualify.
Well done guys.
God bless Nigeria.
Shame on Libya.
Also big shame on ghanaians and South Africans that supported evil acts of Libya in the last game.
After the failed attempt by Libya to embarrass the Super Eagles, they ended up with more than eggs on their faces as we Super Eagles fans look forward to another tantalising set of encounter next week.
Nigeria are sitting comfortably on top of the group with 10 points as Eguavoen’s restoration and recovery exercise going to plan.
Having initially embraced 3-4-3, he ditched it for 4-3-3 against Libya because he needed more bodies in midfield which gels with his attacking philosophy.
Erstwhile Head Coach Peseiro used 3-4-3 with emphasis on a defensive approach. Eguavoen is finding that he will likely run into problems with the same formation but with an attacking emphasis, which would leave Nigeria short in midfield.
But, again, Nigeria struggles with Just 4 at the back. So I will be eager to see how Eguavoen squares this midfield – defense circle in November’s games.
It will also be interesting to see who gets invited. Tanimu is now playing for Crawley Town but Ajayi is out injured, who replaces him?
Iheanacho opened his goals account in Spain which would support his invitation but shock will trail the invitation of Taiwo Awoniyi who is largely inactive for Nottingham Forest.
I would expect Goalkeeper Amas Obasogie to give way to a homebased
goalkeeper.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru also has failed to taste any action for Lazio in the league going back to 31st August. That said, I doubt his invitation or involvement with the Super Eagles in November will be harmed. But, he needs to force his way back into reckoning for his club so as not to be rusty.
Victor Osimhen should be back but should we clamour for Joe Aribo’s return?
Anyways, I am looking forward to these encounter with delight. Hopefully the rich vein of form continues for the Super Eagles.
I am only trying to suggest or preempt Austin Eguavoen’s list of invited players. I suggest that opportunities be given to other players who by their performance for their clubs have been knocking on the door of the Super Eagles. Since we are all but qualified for AFCON, 2025, Nigeria needs to present a formidable team to win that tournament after narrowly missing out to the hosts in Cote D’Ivorie, 2024.
