Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen insists his side will go all out for a win against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.
Nigeria and neighbours Benin Republic will clash in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday one encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday (today).
It will be repeat of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between the two teams in June which the Cheetahs won 2-1.

Eguavoen said his players are battle ready and will go all out for a win against Gernot Rohr’s men.
“Expectations are high, we’re at home, we’re in good spirit and we want the three points,” he told reporters.
“We will approach the game with all seriousness and we will do everything possible to win.
“It will be nothing but a win.”

DUE TO MISAPPROPRIATION OF FUND BY OUR GOVERNMENT LEADERS IN THE OFFICE, ALWAYS CLAIMING THAT MONKEY, GORILLA, SNAKE HAVE SWALLOW MONEY AFTER LOOTING.
AND DUE TO UNSERIOUSNESS OF OUR FOOTBALL MANAGEMENT BY NOT SECURING A SUBSTANTIVE COACH FOR SUPER EAGLE SINCE THE EXIT OF PASEIRO, WASTING MONEY BY TRAVELING UP & DOWN IN EUROPE CLAIMING THAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR FOREIGN COACH, I WILL PRAY THAT CHEETAH OF BENIN REPUBLIC SHOULD SWALLOW ALL THE THREE POINTS AGAINST SUPER EAGLE OF NIGERIA.
I no fit laughoooooooo! !!!!!!!!
if osimhen is started in this game ahead of other strikers that arrive as at when due then eguavoen will be cultivating problem and bad blood in the team without kicking a ball. that boy osimhen is a pompous somebody and Wil give those benched for him irrespective of his reporting late to camp body language that will create bad blood bcuz that is osimhen usual life trends. I hope someone is listening ooo for I have no grudge against osimhen am only judging him by his character antics well documented over time.
Osimhen will not start but fear Nigeria anything can happen if he is creasing their palms.
But u know the controversy surrounding his transfer and the mental struggle too. Let’s Lean to have empathy for our players and support them when they need the support. If coach can’t start him in the first half second half is not bad. Moreso what u said is not justified. If not for the transfer and he comes late to the camp u can say all these. Whatever happens let’s support and prayer for our players and coaching crew
win match and forego your best striker just because he came to camp late , for reasons known to the whole world to seal his transfer You can’t be playing a “must
You’re free to start unfit player just because he is the best. Lol weird thinking by men of zero principles.
If the starting lineup posted by Owngoal Nigeria is anything to go by, Mr. Austin Pep Guardiola Eguaveon seems to embrace Poseiro’s 3-4-3. Is the Lord not good?
You get mind to dey trust that serially fake news website
Eguaveon should go for the three points as he just promised to enable him to the boys to Afcon. Anyway, that would depend on the match against Amorabi of Rwanda. For me, there shouldn’t be any need to talk about a foreign coach. Osimhen’s presence aline 8s enough for us to secure the 3points. SE, let’s go there.
It only goes to show how sentimental or little minded people could be because it doesn’t really matters who starts as what is important is a win for Nigeria, our country. Obviously some fans are concerned about Osimhen’s fitness because of his recent transfer that eventually made him a trend star player, still on lips. Of course some time was chunk off due to his busy schedule. But I put it to all that the African best player’s presence alone is enough to encourage his mates to do the needful. Remember its on record that without Osimhen input Nigeria can’t win and if at all, not with great margin. I think it was only against the Black stars. Against this same Benin Rep. and Mali his colleagues were woeful as they lost out and the same fans making noise now were seriously pained accusing the ex placeholder, George who was then holding for us. It’s an hour 20mins to go from my location so my advice is for us to sit back and wait. Me just on some popcorn and ice cream intermittently checking my time, and quite sincerely im still cautiously optimistic.
Odion has come again. Or should Nigeria fans be begging for comment time just like some players are begging for playing time? Odion, answer me. Eguaveon pls don’t boast too much but only concentrate on the task ahead.
