Nigeria’s Flying Eagles on Friday crashed out of the football event at the ongoing African Games in Accra, Ghana.
The Flying Eagles lost 3-2 to Senegal in their final Group B.
The Ladan Bosso-led side needed at least point to progress into the semi-finals.
It was the team’s second defeat in three group stage fixtures.
In their opening game against Uganda, the Flying Eagles lost 2-1.
They bounced back from the opening game loss by edging South Sudan.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t get at least a point to join Uganda in the last four.

NFF should sack this man, be a forgotten one by our football community. He has never done anything commendable in the age grade team. NFF look for a capable hand that will move our football forward and employ such
*** IT IS NOT A THINGS OF SURPRISE.***
99% OF NIGERIA ARE ALREADY EXPECTED IT.
WITH BOSSO, NOTHING IS POSSIBLE
Please those trying to make a case for bosso u20 and salisu u23 should ask themselves if the players selected by those 2 coaches were they best in their category for Nigeria home and abroad?
Nff is a perennial problem but coaches like sia1 & Keshi due to determination to succeed had their way around their antics….
So bosso is a recurrent failure and tribalistic coach…
While not give this team to Manu Garba u20, Nduka Ugbade u17, Nsien/Akuneto u23, Finidi George Home Eagles , Mosimane Super Eagles with all the above as his assistants with Enyeama/Shorunmu as Gk trainers
Landan bosso shud have been a beneficiary of peceiro lesson but he threw it away.. if u have built ur team on attacking mode and u found out dey struggling to get 3 points a win .den pack ur bus and counter the opponent in a competition.
Landan saw this before the competition in films sent to him from Cote D’Ivoire but he thought it was drama.
Our nigerian teams have been losing games dey shud have won easily but they wil never have a second thought during games. Philip trousseau we gave the white witch doctor came and did same in 1997 .. won all his games .no matter the international exposure of a team ,dey wil drop points if not well prepared . Technically.. even if super eagles goes on attacking mode against a club like usma Algiers the results could surprise you .
The falcon will struggle to win if not technically good against their opponent hence we saw wat dey did at the wcup ..so bosso is a good coach but he didn’t learn the tricks of winning and this has been our Waterloo as black coaches.. in major competition. Even with eguavoen as coach playing against Ghana den..
Serial loser lada boso. I hope the flying eagles coach seat will be declared vacant now. Nigeria a nation of insincere people and leaders
You win some and lose some sometimes.
Absolutely! The reason Southeast region is still underrepresented at the National Assembly considering the number of states in each region.
Pick it up boys next time you’re doing better
Give the team Amunike
He will learn from the lose,he has the time now to improve the team for the task ahead,I trust Bosso to come back stronger
Come back from what?
The guy has ALWAYS been a loser.
Get rid of him – he is too dumb to learn anything. !!!
This man is a serial loser ( Ladan Bosso), NFF should pls employ a very young coach for the flying Eagles, That former MFN coach, Ilechukwu is the best bet
In a group with countries like Senegal/Uganda/Sudan and still cannot make it out? You have no excuse really. Shame!
I never kuku like the man. Na olodo.
What miracle are we expecting them to perform with one week preparation for the competition. We can be very quick in condemning coaches but what about the NFF who think any Nigeria team can walk straight into any competition with or without any preparation and win it? Is Bosso a magician to conjure miracles. The man has his shortcomings but to me, this Gasua led board is a monumental failure already in many respects.
Did anyone notice how the u23 team was put together? From the technical crew to the players, logistics and playing surfaces, everything was in total shambles. Now, for sure, we ain’t going to the Olympics. Yes! We ain’t even with the array of stars we have who fall in tgat age bracket. Before you blame Salisu, blame the NFF.
I heard FIFA has now made the u17 tournament a yearly affair. You’ll see how shambolic the preparation of the Golden Eaglets will be. 2 weeks to the qualifying match, the coach will still be conducting an open camp for player selection. And wj3n he goes to WAFU and fails, we will turn around and blame him.
The Super Falcons doing well at the last WC was a pure act
of luck and the players determination. And that’s what Gasua likes to rely on when sending our teams to tournaments. Yet we expect miracles at the expense of well-prepared teams. Does it work that way?
Excuse not tenable because other teams too didn’t have such luxury of time. For all we know, under 23 players should be in active clubs prior to call up. With intervals between tournament group games also, all teams have equal match preparation periods. What is the use of camping players that are not certain to make the final roster and release dates for football competitions have set dates.
No excuse will suffice, period. When Bosso kicked out some Beyond Limit players that won the cup in Italy, I knew his coaching sell by date was near. He should get out for good
How the mighty are falling, i weep for my country Nigeria, negligence!! having drunkards running our football federation, the only thing that brings joy and succor to entire Nigerians,
Please no one should ask HOW DID WE GET HERE
Morons who are running the affairs of our football knows that Ladan Bosso has nothing to offer, how many times has he handled our junior team and what was the result, ZERO, yet they keep calling him to handle an important assignment like this,
Why are we taking for granted, playing with our emotions,
NFF have calendar for football events each year ahead of time, can one tell me why NFF called Boso last minute to take this assignment, is it now that they know that we have this tournament coming up and for that reason, get the a well rounded coach like Samson Siasia to start gathering the boys and play series of friendlies, now they send the cheap one they dont want to pay, he gathered boys from his village and went for the tournament,
i don’t blame Bosso, I blame the inefficient, corrupt, empty head board members of NFF who are out for self enrichment that put us in this deplorable mess,
For total disrespect to football loving nation Nigerians, deliberately taking our joy away, you all board members of NFF will receive FULL RECOMPENCE DUE FOR YOUR MADNESS
The problem of Nigerian football is in the under development of our football from school/grassroot . Until Nigeria goes back to school sports development and competitions from where raw talents will be thrown up, it’s going to be one disappointment after another across board.
Having done very well with u15, Amuneke should be able to handle the Olympic team.
U15 is not Olympic team. Has Amuneke the prerequisite to even coach u20? Hell no.
… and he’s sprouting to become Super Eagles coach even when the NFF, his people called onigbese had outlined certain requirements.
God bless you.
It is sickening that a coach will fumble and fail shambolically and some people will come on this forum to cut the coach some slack. This is one of the reasons why we have corrupt people leading Nigeria. Nigerians love their oppressors differently and like to aid and abet corruption.
It was crystal clear from the outset that Bosso was going to fail. The handwriting was already on the wall right from the time he was selected as the coach of the flying eagles and the Olympic team. He consolidated his failure with the type of players he selected and practically confirmed it by the loss against Uganda and defeating South Sudan, South Sudan for that matter!, with a lone goal scored from a spot kick.
Look at the output of all his players on the field of play and you know they were never selected on merit. Now the unserious NFF can consolidate this failure by retaining Ladan Bosso as the coach of the under 20 and Olympic team.
Those of us who like to support failure and poor performance can go ahead and enjoy the result that Ladan Bosso has brought to Nigeria because failure no dey tire Nigerians.
This one has been recycled up and down without many podium finish. How many times has a coach from other parts of Nigeria with a history of failure been recycled?
Bosso has been destroying Nigerian U20 and football since the days of Mango Park
The real issue was that the players were not selected on merit.Simple.If you investigate deeper, you will discover the deals with agents that supplied him the players. It does not help that he is not on contract or salary but paid based on matches played. He cannot beat his chest and say that this is the best set of U20 boys in Nigeria.Senegal team that defeated Bosso have about 80% of their last U17 players.Wherebis Ugbade’s Last U17 players?
In those days when you see a northern player in any under age team, That player thoroughly deserve his place when you see him play .For Eg Sani Kaita, Ahmed Musa, Sadiq Umar etc.But under Bosso teams, you will see about 45% northerners in the team. Not bad if they deserve their place but the issue is that they are all below average players and it affects his performance.Check out all our past U20 teams, just one or two or max 3.
I think Bosso should move on he has done his best.Let another young grass root developmental coach like Felix Iluchukwu or Manu Garba take over and let us have a truly national team.
I truly don’t understand why Manu Garba is hustling for the U17 coach job with Ugbade. He has won it before. He has no higher ambitions?
NFF SHOULD RETAIN HIM WHAT IS THE NEED TO SACK THE TRIBALISM COACH AFTER HE DESTROYED THE FUTURE OF NIGERIA FOOTBALL LET HIM REMAIN THERE
HIS BROTHER YUSUF SAILSU BRIBERY COACH THROW AWAY OUT NIGERIA FOOTBALL OLYMPIC FOOTBALL PARIS BY THE SAME TRIBALISM AND BRIBERY
NIGERIA FOOTBALL WILL NEVER SEE ANYTHING GOOD WITH ALL THOSE TRIBALISM COACHES IN NIGERIA USELESS COACHES FLOATING AROUND NIGERIA FOOTBALL TEAM
LET THEM GIVE IT TO MOHAMMED TANKO
OR IBRAHIM GAMBO ABOKI DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL
CURRIPTION IN NIGERIA FOOTBALL THAT NO PROGRESS
Useless team with good for nothing coach.
This is the result of corruption in NFF.
It would have been far better if Amuneke is allowed to handle this team or Olympic team.
This result is not news to me. I knew the team would crash out of the competition immediately I saw his list of invited players.
They failed from the moment Ladan Bosso was employed, so I was not expecting anything other than this from him and his team.
He has failed over and over again yet he gets the next available appointment. Only him and those NFF officials knows what he has against them that makes him get all the appointments when we have better result oriented coaches out there.
Shame on NFF!!
This was definitely not the result Flying Eagles fans wanted but it is one that has further nailed the competency of Ladan Bosso to the wall in the eyes of his die hard critics – and there are many of them.
The Flying Eagles showed hunger and ambition to take the lead early but defensive frailties cost them dearly as they would concede 2 goals in quick succession.
Again, Bosso’s boys exhibited endeavour to pull the game level only to go down to a meatgrinder to eventually lose 3:2.
Taking the lead and then equalising when trailing suggested to me that it would have been a nail biting encounter. It also demonstrated the fighting spirit in Bosso’s team. But poor games-management was their ultimate undoing.
Bosso will continue to make a cane for his back back selecting subpar largely Northern players to prosecute tournaments. I think his Flying Eagles would have flown higher in this tournament had they had more quality in their ranks.
A large section of Flying Eagles Fanbase are fed up with Bosso – many never like his style from this off. This Africa Games failure has just succeeded in forging a fresh ring in the ever lengthening chain of grievances these fans harbour for Bosso.
When I see him on the touch lines, he looks depressed and forlorn. Perhaps it’s time he voluntarily steps down from the Flying Eagles role. He has been given several bites of the Flying Eagles puff puff but his outputs haven’t always been undeniably tasty even though a few of us like him.
I always try to see the light at the end of the tunnel but the light is now starting to dim. My great gripe against Bosso is that, in the 17years interval that he has managed the Flying Eagles on and off, he has simply stagnated. For me, Bosso is not poor, but he is not brilliant either, he is just excitingly average.
But yeah, average is now no longer good enough.
If he stays, he will just be scraping the bottom of his coaching barrel. Perhaps enough is enough!
Rewritten……

If he stays, he will just be scraping the bottom of his coaching barrel. Perhaps enough is enough, for his own sake!
Those of us who like him still do, sadly, it would appear a vast majority of fans don’t!
Deo. Bosso is poor. He is not average. He should have retired from coaching. He is stagnant in knowledge. There’s nothing different from what we used to see about his team from day one. You may like him but he doesn’t deserve to be a coach of even the under 13.

I have said it countless times that this Laddan Bosso man is the most useless coach Nigeria has ever produced. A serial loser who keeps getting job as though it is his birthright. It’s only a country like Nigeria where a clueless and serial loser will be put in charge of a national football team. Tufiakwa.
I watched his team at the last U-20 and couldn’t understand what version of football they were playing. As a sworn tribalist, he selected a bunch of talentless wannabees who kept playing like headless-chicken. They’ll just hoof the ball to any direction and start running – anywhere bele face!
I stay in Ghana, in fact very close to the stadium but never bordered going to watch his disgraceful team. Mtcheeew
My interest is in the female team. Dem sabi play boolu. Ladan Bosso na isi-aki!
@Deo,I can see you are bosso’s friend. Reason you fail to see him as someone that has nothing to offer. At a point I was fed up with your analysis when you went as far as recommending him( bosso) for super eagles job.
The problem is the NFF political system that is destroying the game due to the way People like Bosso has been hired . in all the years that he’s been handling the same flying Eagles team, he’s never hit gold talk less of improving in all his years of coaching that age group team . And again certain people have been pulling the strings to his appointment in which he doesn’t deserve that position .
There’s a lot to be done with the administration of the glass house on who they appoint as coach .
If we stay with Bosso the Flying Eagles will experience back to jack failure.
