Michael Kayode’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, has opened up about the tactical and physical motivations behind the full-back’s decision to leave Fiorentina for Premier League side Brentford.
After initially arriving in West London on loan before completing a permanent transfer, Kayode has firmly established himself as a key figure for the Bees and recently broke into the Italy national team setup.

In a chat with FiorentinaNews, Vigorelli stated that the move was catalyzed by how well English football matches the player’s natural attributes.
“Kayode left Florence with great gratitude, but he went to a stronger league that better suits his characteristics than the Italian one, because of his physicality, but also because of the football culture.
“He initially sat on the bench at Brentford, then he carved out his own role, charting his own path, and became a starter. He still has some areas to improve, but he knows it.”
Vigorelli also noted that the Premier League’s intense style and high-level tempo suit Kayode’s explosive physicality far better than the tactical nuances of Italian football.

Despite an initial settling-in period that saw him benched, the agent emphasized that competing in the world’s most-watched league has fast-tracked the 22-year-old’s development.
Having since signed a lucrative long-term contract extension running until 2032, Kayode’s camp believes he is primed to feature prominently in English football for many years to come.
