Aguirre Excludes Salah From Egypt Squad For Super Eagles Friendly

Pharaohs of Egypt head coach Javier Aguirre has omitted Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah from his 25-man squad for March 26 international friendly against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Asaba, reports Completesports.com.

The Pharaohs will face the Mena of Niger in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on March 23, before heading to Nigeria for the friendly against the Super Eagles billed to hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazi was also left out by Aguirre, as well as Al Ahly quartet of Mohamed El-Shennawy, Hussein El-Shahat, Ramadan Sobhi and Marwan Mohsen.

Mohamed Awad, a goalkeeper who plays for Egypt Premier League club Al Wehda failed to make Aguirre’s squad list due to injury.

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Olympiacos of Greece star forward Ahmed Hassan Kouka are the biggest names in the Aguirre’s squad.

  • This should be a straight win for SE. I’m also expecting Rohr to prosecute this friendly with fringe players knocking on the doors of the main squad and discover any new bright talents that should be upgraded.

    On another note, why the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba again? Haba! The last match on that ground was an eyesore for viewers at home. Muddy pitch and just one angle camera. Oga Pinnick, is the pitch now ready for players to express themselves well and spectators to enjoy the game? And has all the cameras for 360 viewing been installed for the benefit of tv viewers? Please don’t short-change fans not based in Asaba cos of some paddy-paddy level abeg. Thank you.
