Nigeria defender Ola Aina missed Torino’s 3-2 home win against Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico Grande on Sunday due to illness, Completesports.com reports.
The wing-back was not in Torino’s matchday squad for the clash and the club has provided an update on the situation.
”Ola #Aina, initially named in the squad , is not available due to flu syndrome,” reads a statement on the club’s official Twitter handle.
Aina has featured in 28 Serie A games for Torino this season with two goals to his name.
The 22-year-old is on loan at Torino from English Premier League club Chelsea.
Torino rallied back twice to win the highly entertaining contest 3-2.
Andrea Belotti scored twice (56th, 82nd) in the encounter with Simone Zaza netting the other Torino goal in the 81st minute. Mehdi Bourabia (12th) and Pol Lirola (71st) scored for Sassuolo.
