Serie A outfit Torino are reportedly set to renew the contract of Super Eagles right-back Ola Aina following his impressive performance in the current campaign.
Aina joined Torino in the summer of 2018, when he completed a loan switch from Champions League holders Chelsea.
After impressing Aina was rewarded with a permanent deal that is believed to have cost Torino €10 million.
An indifferent campaign followed, and Aina joined Fulham on loan in September 2020, after the London club parted with €2.5 million.
Aina did well for Fulham, but it was not enough to help the Cottagers remain in the top-tier of English football and he returned to Italy following the London club’s relegation.
Meeting new manager Luca Juric at Torino, Aina returned to work and soon convinced his Italian boss with his quality and work rate.
Aina has made ten appearances in the Serie A and another in the Coppa Italia, gradually becoming one of Juric’s most trusted defenders.
And according to Torino Granada, Torino have identified the Nigerian as one of the key players to hand a contract extension.
Meanwhile, Aina has been listed in the Super Eagles 24-man squad for this month’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Liberia and Cape Verde.Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
