Nigeria defender Ola Aina missed training on Tuesday with his Italian club Torino prompting speculations he could be set for a spell oh the sidelines, reports Completesports.com.
Aina, who was initially named in Torino‘s starting line-up in Sunday’s 3-0 win against Chievo Verona at the Stadio Olimpico was replaced by Cristain Ansaldi after picking up an injury during the pre-match warm up exercise.
He was named in Nigeria’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Seychelles and the friendly clash versus Pharaohs of Egypt billed for the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba later this month.
Torino provided an update on the injury on their official website on Tuesday which will not be too pleasing for Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr.

”Ola Aina for the problem of the abdominal rectum, was put under evaluation by the medical staff for the injury suffered during warm up against Chievo,” reads the statement.
The 22-year-old is now a big doubt for Torino’s Serie A Clash against Frosinone on Sunday.
Aina who is on loan at Torino from Chelsea has made 22 appearances for the club this season with a goal to his name.
