Ajagba Extends Winning Streak To 10 Bouts With Knockout Win Over Wallisch

Nigeria’s heavyweight boxer, Efe Ajagba extended his winning streak to 10 bouts Sunday morning defeating Michael Wallisch from Germany after two rounds in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA), reports Completesports.com.

The knockout was Ajagba’s ninth so far. The 25 year old pugilist has knocked out each of his pro opponents, except Curtis Harper.

For the 33-year-old Michael Wallisch it was the first professional assignment in the “mecca of boxing”. In the Cosmopolitan in Leas Vegas, the German heavyweight from the stable of promoter Erol Ceylan faced the up-and-coming and highly esteemed Efe Ajagba. The 25-year-old Nigerian showed from the first second – in addition to his massive stature – his range advantage over a good left leading hand on display.

Ajagba threw a ton of punches in the opening round, with Wallisch looking to get inside and crowd the power-punching Nigerian.

He did get there, but doing effective work once there proved a bit more difficult.

In the second round, Ajagba hammered Wallisch down to a knee, and then landed a shot with Wallisch on the canvas.

Referee Tony Weeks counted the knockdown and gave Wallisch time to recover, but Wallisch didn’t take much.

When the action resumed, Ajagba unloaded and landed enough shots without Wallisch responding that Weeks stepped in to stop the fight at 1:40 of the second round.

After the bout, Ajagba was confident of fighting the top boxers.

“In one year, or maybe two, I think I’ll be fighting against top guys,” Ajagba said at a press conference.

“We’re going to keep stepping up. This is my first time fighting on Showtime, so I’m looking forward to more.”
