Romano tweeted “Calvin Bassey deal details: €22m fee guaranteed, €5m add-ons and sell on clause around 10% of future sale. Long term contract for Bassey, top signing confirmed.”

The deal will also make the versatile Super Eagles player the most expensive defensive signing in the entire history of Ajax as Champion League football is also guaranteed.

Best Nigerian Transfer Of The Year!

    • Omaskels 2 years ago

Not only d year oo.. for 3years now if not more than..

      • What about osimhen to Napoli?, But good luck to bassey official announcement will be in place will happen dinner than later

      • Zaidu to porto and Bassey to Ajax is the level to me o….Porto and Ajax are on the same level to me o ……They both have won the UCL…they both have history…they both enjoy good run in the UCL of recent……they both win their domestic titles regularly.

        • They aren’t in the same level because Francisco concieco the son of Porto manager and their number 10 is going to Ajax. This shows the superiority of Ajax. But to me I agree with you Ajax and Porto are almost the same

The Portuguese League is ranked higher than the EREDIVISE sir. It’s no 6 in Europe. Please go research. That a Porto player moves to Ajax doesn’t confer superiority to the Dutch League. After all SMALLING, TOMORI and Abraham moved to Italy from England.

          • Lol, am my talking about the league, an talking about the club. Tomori and others left to serie A because they aren’t valued at Chelsea and only middle clubs wants them( Aston Villa,Leeds etc) that’s why they left for Italy. Fransisco own is different he is considered as Porto’s main project he was given the jersey number 10 and plus his dad is Porto Coach and manager, he gets valuable minutes but still chose Ajax ahead of them. Am not talking about league been superior, am talking about the club. So you rather go to Leeds United when Bayern Munich wants you because the premier league is bigger than the bundesliga? Think

    CONGRATULATIONS sha…

The DUTCH LEAGUE is still a SOFT A** LEAGUE..

AJAX AJAX is always DOMINATING their LEAGUE back to back..

No SERIOUS/STIFF COMPETITION like the PREMIER LEAGUE (The BEST) where I would have wanted him to PLAY for GIANTS like MAN U, LIVERPOOL, CHELSEA, MAN CITY etc or even in SPAIN, you gat MADRID, BARCELONA, ATHLETICO… Stiff Competition…

    • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

But in all, I will say it’s still a GOOD MOVE compare to If HE had join BRIGHTON (as earlier SPECULATED)

Ajax has historically played some of the best football in the world. Cruff generation and thereafter Papillo and George. Their stint prepared them for great service for Nigeria. Ajax is a great move for Bassey. He would be a far more knowledgeable footballer.

This is real not all those speculations here and there…if a big and top club signs a player, then that baller is real good… congrats our own, make us proud

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Sadiq Umar still on speculation…..Sevilla today Villarreal tomorrow Valencia next week. Let’s see where he ends up. Even Dennis seems to have no concrete offer. 4 of our first team players are in the championship well let’s see how it goes.

  • This is what we pray for concerning our players. You can see that a top manager from Ajax personally recommend and chose bassey. The point is that all other players should try and lift up their games to the point where coachs or club managers will be the one recommending and personally selecting them. Denis greatest woe will be that inconsistency. Perform well in one big game and then go under for another three games is not the best for them.
This is what is affecting kelechi, iwobi, and some other players.

A good players and well convincing players will not need too much speculations, will not needs csn to be doing weekly report about who and who is interested in a player before transfer becomes reality for them.
What we want to hear next is osimeh to Bayern. Having these guys in top clubs will boost their confidence against any big team in the world.

  • Supatemmy 2 years ago

Congrats big Bassey, this is what we pray for our players, big champions league clubs not championship clubs.

This is the biggest move of any Nigerian player in the past 4 years after Osimhen move to Napoli and Chukwueze to Villarreal. That’s the way to go guys, top club top notch. Ajax is one of the best club in Europe, always getting to quarter finals, semi finals and some times final of champions league. They fine among the big names in European clubs. And a shopping mall for the elites.

As long as bassey is in Ajax, be expecting him in Liverpool, Man Utd, Real Madrid, after 2 years. Because Ajax is where the biggest clubs shops.

My darling friend @Monkeypost I disagree with you on this one.

This what we would like from our Super Eagles players to join big clubs at big leauges in Europe, so that they will gain championship soul, they will improve their technical and tactical aspects, so they will find a great coaches at these clubs who have huge experience on football training technically and tactically; champion clubs in Europe have many traits which players will benefit from them, just like they have an excellent facilities which players will benefits, they have excellent administration with a huge companies sponsor them, or a one capitalist who sponsor the club like Ibramovic who sponsors Chelsea FC, Khalifa Ben Nasir who sponsors PSG; big clubs always contract with high quality players from Europe or South America or Africa, that means these clubs want a quality players in order to maintain their position in leauge table as champion.
