Semi Ajayi has sent a heartfelt farewell message to Rotherham United after completing a £1.3m move to another English Championship side West Bromwich Albion and signing a four-year contract, Completesports.com reports.
Ajayi took to the social media to tell Rotherham United staff, fans and his teammates that he enjoyed every bit of his two and a half year stint with them and that he was really going to miss them.
“Thank you to all those connected with Rotherham United for an amazing (two) 2 and a half years (stay at the club),” Ajayi tweeted on his official Twitter handle on Saturday.
“To the staff, my teammates and the fans, thank you all for accepting me and embracing me in a way which allowed me to feel truly at home.
“I’ll never forget the special bond and memories we’ve created since I joined the club. From Scunthorpe away in front of our fans , to getting promoted at Wembley and of course, scenes at QPR in the last minute.
” I sincerely wish all connected with the club the very best for the future. I will miss you all.”
Ajayi also tweeted: “Lord you are in control. Absolutely delighted to be joining @WBA. Thank you for all your messages, I can’t wait to get started 🙏🏾❤️ #WBA #Baggies.”
Ajayi missed the 2019 AFCON final cut after Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr dropped him and striker Kelechi Iheanacho before the squad left their Asaba training camp for Egypt.
