Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is in line to win the goalkeeper of the season award in South Africa, reports Completesports.com.
The coveted gong is awarded to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the Absa Premiership.
Akpeyi boasts an impressive 47.4 percent clean sheet ratio, having kept his side from conceding in nine of his 17 appearances this season.
The 33-year-old will hope to use the remaining eight games of the campaign to win the golden gloves award.
The former Warri Wolves goalkeeper has established himself as Kaizer Chiefs’ first- choice ahead of Itumeleng Khune and Bruce Bvuma.
The Absa Premiership was suspended in March due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
