Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu has expressed clear frustration after conceding a controversial late penalty in Blackburn Rovers’ 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Friday’s Championship game.
Raúl Jiménez scored the resulting penalty in the 93rd minute to deny Blackburn a win, with Alebiosu stating that he believed he was outside the penalty box when the handball occurred.

The Nigerian international stated he felt gutting disappointment and maintained that replays showed he was standing outside the box when the ball hit his arm.
Despite missing out on three points right at the death, Alebiosu praised the team’s overall effort in a tough away fixture.
“We’re frustrated, the boys have done everything to get the three points,” Alebiosu told the Guardian.
“The ball has been played, and I thought I was outside the box… obviously the decision has gone against us.
“The boys dug deep, and we thought we had it. Just the final details with the penalty is frustrating. If we play like that every week, we’ll go far in the table.”

Alebiosu was named official Man of the Match for Blackburn Rovers in their 2-2 EFL Championship season opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite conceding a controversial late penalty.
Blackburn will next host Middlesbrough at Ewood Park next weekend.
