Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti feels his side have shown progress since last season as they prepare to host Liverpool in the Champions League. The Serie A outfit secured a 1-0 win over the Reds at the San Paolo Stadium when the two teams met in the competition last season.
Of course, Liverpool went on to win the competition and now the champions of Europe are preparing for another trip to Naples on Tuesday night.
Ancelotti knows all about the quality of Jurgen Klopp’s side, but also feels his team have made real progress since their last encounter and is confident his players will put in a positive performance. “Liverpool have grown because last season gave them so much awareness,” the former Chelsea boss told reporters.
“On the other hand, we’ve also grown because we’ve added more quality to their squad. “It’ll be a hard-fought match as we’ll be facing the best team in Europe. We hope to get the same result as last season.”
The Azzurri have made a decent start to their domestic campaign and currently sit in fourth place in the table, with three points between themselves and the early frontrunners Inter Milan. Napoli have won two of their three games so far and head into Tuesday’s game on the back of a 2-0 home victory against Sampdoria.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
