Scottish club Kilmarnock are keen on former Everton striker Victor Anichebe.
The club have been in talks with the 31-year-old’s representatives, trying to convince the Nigerian frontman, who is a free agent, to make the move to the Premiership.
The problem for Killie is they face stiff competition from a number of sides in England’s lower leagues.
Anichebe has already been offered a deal by League One Doncaster with whom he trained on Friday.
He has, however, sounded out former team-mates, including Youssouf Mulumbu, about Kilmarnock and the Premiership. The experienced forward came through the ranks at Everton and also had spells at West Brom and Sunderland.
Anichebe has just returned to the United Kingdom from a lucrative spell in China with Beijing Enterprises.
