Argentina Vs Nigeria International Friendly Game Called Off

Next month’s international friendly game between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and world champions Argentina has been callEd off.

No official statement has been made by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the cancellation of the game.

The high profile friendly game was billed for 26 March, 2024, in Los Angeles, USA.

But according to BBC Sport journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji, has been cancelled due to short time to process visas for Nigerian delegation.

Okeleji stated that the US organisers of the game have already drafted in Costa Rica as replacement for the Eagles.

The friendly game between the Eagles and Argentina was initially scheduled to hold in China but was cancelled.

The game was cancelled after Lionel Messi failed to appear in a friendly game between Inter Miami and an Hong Kong Selected XI.

He received a lot of backlash from fans who had to be refunded by the organisers of the game.

The former Barcelona captain explained that he sustained an injury hence his absence from the game.

So right under the nostrils of the NFF, a massive friendly has been cancelled “due to short time to process visas for Nigerian delegation”

Sorry, which delegation requires months to process entry visas into the US for a friendly…? Peserio and and his assistants who are EU citizens (I suppose)…? or about half of the team who are half British or half European…? or the professional players who have valid residence permits in the various European clubs where they play professionally…??

We cannot assemble 18 players who can legally enter the US at the moment or before the 25 of March….LMAOooo…??

The NFF should please explain to us which Nigerian delegation has “short time to process visas” for us to throw away such a massive opportunity to play the world champions.

They should organise another friendly with African country in order not to waste to the opportunity of FIFA window in March.
If Argentina is not ready, C.A.R, Comoros, Lesotho are ready.
No minor in Africa football. Even super eagle cannot boast of beating any team mentioned above.

Incompetence is a serious disease. I hate this NFF board with passion. The president looks so local and lacks the requisite exposure and intelligence to run that organization. Under Pinnick, this match will be played. I don’t like Pinnick either but compared to this Gusau, he’s way better.
