Arsenal Begin Talks With PSG For Defender

Arsenal have begun negotiations with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain over the potential arrival of full-back Layvin Kurzawa.

Arsenal have struggled in defence this season with just four clean sheets from 22 league matches.

Injuries have also not been kind to Arsenal this season as they have been short of numbers at the back.

But according to French outlet RMC Sport (via Goal.com) Mikel Arteta will aim to remedy his defensive issues with the arrival of Kurzawa.

The 27-year-old’s contract with PSG expires in the summer, meaning he would be able to join on a free transfer in six months’ time if the two clubs agree terms, though the article states ‘a January move has not been ruled out.’

Kurzawa has slipped down the pecking order with the French champions this season, with Spanish international Juan Bernat often preferred on the left side of defence.

The 14-times capped France international does boast an impressive goals return for a defender, however, notching 12 goals in all competitions for the club in just 100 appearances.

The Gunners are believed to have offered a ‘five-year contract to Kurzawa,’ who is described as being ‘keen on a move to England.’
