Premier League champions Arsenal have celebrated Viktor Gyokeres after the Sweden international set a new UEFA Nations League goal record.
In a statement on their website on Saturday, Arsenal wrote:”Viktor Gyokeres made Nations League history as he found the net in Sweden’s 1-1 draw with Bosnia & Herzegovina.
“Our number 14 smashed home on 61 minutes to become the first player ever to score in six consecutive Nations League matches.
“Viktor is now on 24 goals for his country, three behind the top 10 scorers in Sweden’s history.
“The draw keeps Sweden at the top of League B, Group 4, two points clear of Bosnia. Viktor and Sweden round off the extended international break with a trip to bottom-of-the-group Romania on Monday.”
Gyokeres has picked the perfect time to find his shooting boots again, and Arsenal will be watching closely.
The 28-year-old striker has scored in all three games of this international break for Sweden.

Gyokeres has had a miserable start at Arsenal this season — just 29 minutes in the Premier League and no goals in five appearances across all competitions, with Kai Havertz preferred by Mikel Arteta.
He was last season’s top scorer with 21 goals in 55 games after his £64m move from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon and helped Arsenal win the Premier League.
Now Havertz picked up a hamstring issue with Germany, and Arsenal face Leeds United on October 10 right after the break. Sweden boss Graham Potter even joked: “If I told Viktor he wanted to rest, he would probably rip my head off.”
Gyokeres himself said he ignores criticism: “If there is a lot of and you read it, of course you can be influenced, but that is not something I do.”[criticism]
Three goals in three, confidence back, and a starting spot opening up at Emirates — timing couldn’t be better for Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.
