Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma won a silver medal in the women’s 200 meters final at the African Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana on Sunday.
Chukwuma clocked a time of 23.60s to finish second behind Côte d’Ivoire’s Maboundou Kone who claimed gold in a time of 23.36s.
Chukwuma has now brought her total medal haul to three at the championships, having won gold in the 4×100 metres and silver in the 100 metres.

In the men’s 200 metres final, Chidi Okezie failed to get to the podium after finishing in sixth position.
The gold medal was won by Côte d’Ivoire’s Cheickna Traore with a time of
20.32s, silver medal went to Phaezel Prince Selepe of Botswana (20.43s) while Mihlali Xotyeni of South Africa got the bronze (20.57s).
