Erling Haaland first half strike sealed a 1-0 win for Manchester City against newly promoted Coventry, at the Etihad in Saturday’s Premier League fixture, completesports.com reports.
Nigeria internationals Taiwo Awoniyi and Frank Onyeka in Frank LA pard’s starting lineup for Coventry. Onyeka was taken off on 63 minutes and Awoniyi was replaced on 71 minutes.
It is now three defeats in Coventry’s opening three Premier League fixtures, which place them bottom.
As for City, Enzo Maresca’s side maintain top spot on the log after recording three wins from three matches and take their tally to nine points.
At Craven Cottage Fulham, with Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey lost 3-2 to Crystal Palace.
Just like Coventry, Fulham have lost all their three opening fixtures and are in 19th position.

Bassey was in action for 90 minutes while Iwobi was pulled out with seven minutes left in the game.
Joshua King gave Fulham the lead on 11 minutes before Tyrick Mitchell level the score on 35 minutes l.
With three minutes left in the first half Cesar Palacios put Fulham back in front to make it 2-1.
In the 54th minute Mitchell made it 2-2 and former Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell got Palace’s third to seal the win for the visitors.
In other fixtures Nottingham Forest, who had Ola Aina in action, were held to a goalless draw by Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton, without Zadok Yohanna, played 1-1 with visiting Leeds United.
