Awoniyi Ready For Nottingham Forest Comeback After Injury Layoff

Taiwo Awoniyi is available for selection again ahead of Nottingham Forest’s home fixture against Wolverhampton Wanders, according to manager Steve Cooper.

Forest will host Wolves at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Awoniyi has been missing in action since copping a groin injury in Nottingham Forest’s away win against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium in January.

The Nigeria international recently returned to full training and Cooper has hinted he will be back in action against Wolves this weekend.

“Taiwo Awoniyi and Cheikhou Kouyaté are back in full training, and obviously Moussa is back now having played the last game and then making his international debut for Senegal,” Cooper told a press conference..

“It’s just something we have to deal with, we’ll put our focus into the players who are available and who are training ready to play the next game.”

The 25-year-old has netted four times in 16 league outings for Forest this season.

  • Great news bette rthan Onuachu infact if this guy stays fit he is one of our best Point men after Big Vic

How? This guy and unoachu + sadiq are the worst strikers nigeria have ever used in our entire history, they should just retire in peace we dont need them because each time they play na so so causes them they collect,
Nigeria that wasnt even satisfied with ighalo, ideye even yakubu despite his goals scoring ability now relegated to these wick legs! its a shame, dribble zero, stamina zero, fitness zero, shot power zero, shot accuracy zero, Skills zero, one on one zero two on one zero.
Nigeria ignored players like simone nwankwo, tony nwakeme, for these guys to come and be playing kinder garten striking for us.
The bendel insurance striker current nigeria premier league top scorer, imade osaekhoe is far better than this awoniyi and unochu/sadiq, isaac success can do better than them too i dont care if he scores for clubside he is a natural eagle, stephen eze is another germ, strikers that can hold on to the ball and contribute to play apart from goal scoring.
Nigeria current striker in supereagles spirit are osihmen, isaac success, moffi, iheanacho, gift orban, boniface, stephen eze, imade. Pesero should select strikers from this list and they should stop forcing this kick and move strikers on us bcos they score in club,?
Pesero should include 5 home base players in the eagles at list imade, the under 20 player muhamed ibeji who i can bet my money will do better than chukueze lookman and simon if given the first shirt.
The midfieder ugbelu can easily be a back up for etebo who is our only Creative central midfieder since our scout are blind to see obina nwobodo, nigeria dont even no the importance of creative central midfield, iwobi cannot do it better the guy is an attacking midfielders central midfieder caracters( mikel obi, onazi, azubuike, obina nwobodo, etebo, ramon azeez, nwakalis) we currently lack this kind of characters in supereagles many have retired but we still have active azubuike, nwobodo, and etebo, alhassan yusuf, ugbelu, can join, these kind of players dictate the game from deep, allowing iwobi more freedom. Any game you see etebo ndidi and iwobi fully fit in the mifild nigeria hardly lose games. Now we have onyeka to replace ndidi when needed, we also have aribo though not convincing but can easily come in for iwobi, what about etebo he is the only one that can take his place and we need either azubuike or nwobodo/alahasan yusuf to take his place because if that space is void wether the coach likes it or not Nigeria goes no where.
