Awoniyi Scores Again In Union Berlin, Stuttgart Draw

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi was in good form as he scored another goal for Union Berlin in their 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart in Sunday’s Bundesliga game.

The Nigerian international netted in the 31st minute to increase his goal tally to seven in nine appearances this ongoing season.

Recall that last Thursday, he scored his team’s only goal as Union Berlin suffered a 3-1 defeat to Feyenoord in a Europa Conference League fixture.

Awoniyi was later substituted in the 74th minute by Kevin Behrens after an impressive display.

The visitor, however, scored in the 93rd minute through substitute, Wahid Faghir to help VfB Stuttgart savaged a 1-1 draw against Berlin.

Despite the draw, Union Berlin sit 5th on the league table on 16 points while Stuttgart move 13th on the log on 10 points.

He gets many through balls from his midfielders. I don’t know why Napali cant be feeding Osigoal with through passes..They allow him to Hassle for his balls.

    • I think some Napoli players are beginning to envy our guy, i thought i was the only one seeing it, infact, i was screeming at my T.V why watching Napoli vs Roma fc because i noticed that player after player were shooting at goal from outside the eighteen while Oshimen was always available and better positioned to score.

  • Awoniyi has really come of age as a striker and I now see why The home office issued him a work permit……I know if it where up to SE to determine his work permit then he would have waited forever……. unambitious and lazy players are getting loads of international caps while the upcoming talents are been wasted…… Setting very high standards for our upcoming talents inorder to keep them out of the National team.SMH

11 goals already in all comps. Only bettered by Mo Salah from an African perspective. He has already doubled his output for last season. There’s no denying the fact that he’s now firmly ahead of Onuachu in the pecking order. Osimhen, Awoniyi, Iheanacho. Then one of Onuachu, Sadiq or Moffi. Going to the AFCON we must select the players that will guarantee us goals.
