Leon Balogun is in line to make his third English FA Cup start for Brighton and Hove Albion when they host Frank Lampard’s Derby County on Saturday in their bid to reach the quarter-finals for the second successive season at the Amex Stadium, reports Completesports.com.
The Seagulls’ only wins so far in 2019 were recorded in the FA Cup, against Bournemouth and West Brom which Balogun featured in.
They are without a win in six Premier League matches.
The 31 year old who has made two appearances in the competition could partner Dan Burn in central defence, as he did in the Fourth Round replay win at West Brom.
The Seagulls won the encounter 3-1 after extra time.
The Nigeria centre-half has made eight Premier League appearances since joining from Mainz on a free last summer, but he is behind Duffy and Dunk in the pecking order.
Fikayo Tomori, who had a loan spell with Albion from Chelsea during their promotion-winning season in 2016/17, is likely to start in central defence for Derby. Efe Ambrose was not listed for the encounter.
