Barcelona Boss Unsure Over Nou Camp Future

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde admits he is unsure whether he will remain at the Nou Camp beyond this season.

The Spaniard was drafted in as Luis Enrique’s successor in the summer of 2017 and he led the Blaugrana to a league and cup double in his first campaign.

Barcelona again lead the way in La Liga this season while they remain active in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.

However, after only penning a two-year deal he is set to be out of contract at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

His current contract does contain the option of a 12-month extension but that has yet to be triggered and Valverde admits he is unsure about what lies ahead.

Valverde told Barca TV: “I do not know what I will do next season. In this football, who knows? We all know how things are. I never think long or long term. “For us, two months are a very long term. If you win a game, everyone is happy and if you lose, everyone is watching you. What I want is for everyone to be satisfied with the work. But we are not going to cheat.

“If you do not win the league, everyone looks at the coach because it is marked like that. I try to meet the objectives and, of course, how much we have left, so let’s see it.”
