Barcelona are reportedly keen to sign Real Madrid transfer target, Jonathan Tah next summer.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender is set to become a free agent upon the expiration of his contract next June.
According to Madrid Universal, Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has asked the club to try and bring in Tah because he believes the center-back would be a great asset for his side.
Tah now seems to have limited his options to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old was previously sought by Bayern during the summer transfer window, and the club have long expressed interest in bringing him to Munich.
However, given Flick’s influence and the potential spot he could have in their defense lineup, Barcelona might be a desirable destination for him.
Madrid first considered signing the defender as early as January given the dearth of dependable options in their backline.
The Germany international will be available on a free transfer in six months time, therefore Los Blancos are said to be hesitant to make a move when the winter window opens.
According to reports, Real Madrid’s management are not willing to spend more than €10 million on the defender, particularly because he would be signed at the end of the current campaign without paying a transfer fee, provided he did not pen a new deal at Leverkusen.
Tah has featured in all matches for Xabi Alonso’s side this season as they look to defend the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal titles they won last season.
