Calvin Bassey has reflected on Fulham’s disappointing defeat to Chelsea, Completesports.com reports.
The Cottagers began the new season with a 3-2 loss to the Blues at Craven Cottage on Monday night.
Chelsea made a blistering start to the encounter, with Joao Pedro opening the scoring after just 32 seconds.
Fulham responded strongly, and Joshua King restored parity in the 23rd minute with a superb strike.
The visitors regained the lead four minutes before the break through debutant Morgan Rogers, who converted from close range.

Cole Palmer increased Chelsea’s advantage four minutes after the restart to put his side firmly in control.
Fulham, however, refused to give up, with Gonzalo García reducing the deficit in the 54th minute.
The hosts pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but were unable to find a way past Chelsea, who returned to Stamford Bridge with all three points.
Bassey, who captained Fulham on the night, expressed disappointment with the result but praised his teammates for the fighting spirit they showed throughout the contest.
“Good fight, unlucky we couldn’t take it back. We carry on building. Thanks for the support,” Bassey wrote on Instagram.
