Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has confirmed that the Bundesliga giants have reached a verbal agreement with Barcelona to sign Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski who has one year left on his Bayern contract, told the club last month that he wishes to leave.
The 33-year-old scored 50 goals in 46 games last season as he helped Bayern win a 10th straight Bundesliga title.
And confirming the agreement between both clubs, Hainer stated was quoted on Bayern’s Twitter handle:”We have come to a verbal agreement with Barcelona. It’s good to have clarity for all parties,” Hainer revealed.
“Robert is an incredible player and he won everything with us. We are incredibly grateful to him.”
Lewandowski joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 and has scored 344 times in 374 games for the club, making him their second-highest scorer of all time behind Gerd Muller.
He helped Bayern secure their second treble in the 2019/20 season and has won the league in all eight of his seasons at the club.
Meanwhile, Barcelona completed the signing of Raphinha from Leeds on Friday in a deal worth up to £55m having already signed Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen on free transfers earlier this month.

The next confirmation should be osimeh coming to Bayern. This should clearly pave for osi Bobo.
AMEN o!!!
He wants to stay at Napoli for a another year to prove he is world class player, that’s if any good offer comes up, but yo me I don’t think Bayern Munich are ready to pay 90-100m Napoli price tag on osimhen. So he will likely stay since Bayern are moving closer to de ligt’s transfer and Juventus wants thesame money Napoli wants for osimhen,90-100. And de ligt is Bayern’s priority.
De ligt should not in anyway hinder VO from joining Bayern, de ligt a defender and VO attacker plus Bayern need one, can’t wait to see VO and mane together, two fast and strong players. That would be a nice combo.
Bro, they might not be able to cough out that money, having spend a considerate amount on De ligt.
