Bellingham Ready For Euro 2024 Showdown –Southgate

England coach Gareth Southgate has declared that Jude Bellingham is ready to make a real impact at the forthcoming Euro 2024.

Recall that the England international has been in brilliant form for Real Madrid after helping the team win the La Liga title and also qualifying the team for the Champions League final.

In a chat with L’Equipe, Southgate stated that Bellingham is working on another level at Real Madrid.

“The conversations I have had with him are about the fact that he now lives in a different kind of world. He is still very young but he is handling it well. But he can’t live like a 20-year-old who can go wherever he wants and do whatever he wants. I have played with David Beckham, who also lived in another world. This is Jude’s world now.

“Jude reminds me of Steven Gerrard. Even when the opponents have the feeling that they are in control of the match, it is players like that who can change it (the match). With their mentality, they influence their teammates.

“It shows in the way he plays. Jude is very respectful of the older players like Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane. When they weren’t playing in the training match against Belgium, we heard Jude and Declan Rice’s voices in the dressing room,.”

Southgate explains that Bellingham has the same kind of respect for Real Madrid legends Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

“Jude knows he can learn from them, but at the same time, he wants to take their place,” he added.

Bellingham – arguably the best player on the planet at the moment.
Always a joy to watch him in action. Reminds me of Kanu, but quicker on his feet.
