Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has expressed delight to see Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface emerge from the accident unscathed.
Recall that the Nigerian international who scored the winning goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday narrowly escaped death in a ghastly car accident on Sunday.
In an interview with Bild, Rolfes expressed relief at Boniface’s survival, as he remains a key player for Bayer Leverkusen.

“He’s better. A situation like this isn’t easy and there’s no doubt that you have to digest it a bit. Of course, we’re all very happy that nothing really happened to him,” he told Bild.
“We’ll talk to him again now and then see what the situation is, whether he’ll go or not. That’s still open at the moment.”
“Of course, this was no small accident. That’s why we always have to be cautious and evaluate how he is doing every day. Fortunately, it didn’t turn out to be serious.”
