Billing Coy Over Terriers Future

Philip Billing is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding his long-term future with Huddersfield. The Denmark under-21 international has been one of the bright sparks in what has been a disastrous season for the Terriers on the pitch, as they look destined to be relegated from the Premier League come the end of the campaign.

Billing has featured in 25 of Huddersfield’s 29 top-flight games to date this term and his performances may well have caught the eye.

The 22-year-old has previously stated his desire to play at the highest level on a regular basis, but for the time being he is remaining coy over his future, as he would prefer to focus on Huddersfield’s final nine games of the season.

“I am just concentrating about here, to be honest,” the midfielder told BBC Radio Leeds. “I am just trying to do my best.”

Billing does feel he has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the John Smith’s Stadium, as he has already started three-times as many league games as he did in the whole of the last campaign, although he knows he still has plenty of room for improvement.

“Personally, for me, I think it’s been what a lot of people see as a breakthrough season – I think it has been, for sure – but I know how much more there is to come from myself,” he added. “I know I have to keep working hard, and that’s what I am going to do.”
