Yannick Bolasie has cut short his Aston Villa loan after exercising an option to return to parent club Everton. DR Congo international Bolasie joined Villa on a season-long loan in the summer and he has been a regular first-team fixture, making 21 Championship appearances of which nine have been starts.
However, the 29-year-old has decided to end his temporary stint in the Midlands six months early and return to the Toffees, who are said to be mulling over the future of manager Marco Silva after a poor run of form.
It is unclear whether the former Crystal Palace winger is a part of Everton’s plans for the rest of the campaign or whether he will be sent out on loan again before the end of the month.
Premier League clubs have to submit their squad registration at the end of the January window, with any player not included unable to play until the 2019/20 season.
