Bologna Target Striker Coup

Bologna could be ready to offer former England striker Daniel Sturridge a chance to play in Serie A, reports have claimed. Sturridge is on the look-out for a new club after running down his contract with Liverpool over the summer and will be available on a free transfer if a deal can be struck with the Rossoblu.

The 29-year-old, who spent over six years with Liverpool, will be not be short of offers, and there has been talk of Aston Villa, who have just won promotion back to the Premier League, making a move. That is sure to be tempting for Sturridge, who emanates from the Midlands, but so would the chance of a switch to Serie A, and Bologna could try and lure him to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

However, one problem could be matching the player’s wage demands, which could be out of Bologna’s reach.
