Victor Boniface returned from a long injury spell last campaign and bagged a brace in Bayer Leverkusen’s 7-0 win against German fifth division side, Sportfreunde Baumberg, in their first pre-season game on Saturday.
Also on target for Leverkusen was Boniface’s Nigerian teammate Nathan Tella.
Boniface came off the bench to put Leverkusen 4-0 up in the 49th minute before adding the fifth goal just four minutes later.
Tella, who also came on in the second half, then got the seventh goal in the 67th minute.

Boniface was on loan to fellow Bundesliga club Werder Bremen last season but had a campaign to forget as he was out for most part due to injury.
The 25-year-old made only 11 appearances and provided two assists without scoring a single goal.
Tella also had a forgettable season due to injury which kept him out for long spells.
