Bournemouth are keen to sign West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez this summer, according to reports. The 29-year-old has just completed his most successful season as a goal scorer, netting 22 times from 45 Championship outings.

That return is bound to attract the attention of some Premier League sides, especially as the one-cap England intentional has plenty of top-flight experience with both Southampton and the Baggies.

Having failed to return to England’s top division at the first time of asking following defeat to Aston Villa in the play-offs, it may be that West Brom need to jettison some of their highest earners and they could sanction Rodriguez’s exit.

Born in Burnley, the striker played 128 times for the Clarets in the early part of his career and his home town club have also been linked.

It remains to be seen what happens but the Express and Star are reporting that Eddie Howe is a big fan and would love him at the Vitality Stadium to bolster his attacking ranks, while Burnley are said to have had a £16m bid for the player turned down last summer.
