Bournemouth Midfielder Billing: Iwobi Asked Me To Play For Nigeria

Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing has revealed that Everton winger Alex Iwobi discussed the possibility of representing Nigeria at international level with him.

Billing is eligible to play for Nigeria through his father.

The 23-year-old is in line to make his international debut for Denmark at senior level in Saturday’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Switzerland, having represented the country of his birth at various youth levels.

Billing admitted that he had been flattered by interest in him.

“It wasn’t until when we (Cherries) were going to play against Everton a couple of weeks ago when Alex Iwobi asked if I might be interested in coming and playing for Nigeria,” Billing told Danish newspaper B.T.

“It’s a pat on the back that another country would like you to play for them. I just take that as a shrug and proof that you are doing well.”

He however stated the chances of turning out for Nigeria had always been slim.

“I am half Nigerian and I feel that way too but I was born and raised in Denmark. My mother is Danish and my sister is Danish, so it would feel strange to have to play for Nigeria.”

A good player no doubt, but ndidi is far superior.. Sometimes we don’t appreciate what we have and are in search for treasure in a foreign land..

I’m following the English game right now… Tomori would not get a cap.. That’s very sure.. And I don’t see him getting another invitation any time soon.. But this guy for me disrespected Nigeria with his comment and shouldn’t be considered when England dumps him

If Tomori and Abraham are consistent with Chelsea, their England future is bright unless otherwise.
      That’s just the bitter truth

  • I have a sneaky feeling England has a quota for black players on the field (2 – 3 players). In this regard, Sterling, Rose, Rashford, Gomez come before Tammy and Tomori. That leaves both guys to fringe roles or 5 minutes plays – that is if they even get lucky to play. But these 2 guys are almost guaranteed starting shirts with Nigeria. Tammy, for example, is the highest goalscorer in the EPL, but Rashford, Kane and Mount still start ahead of him. How about that?

True based on form he should get some minutes before Kane….they would never do that to a white player that is leading the goal charts.

Tomori can be guaranteed a starting shirt for Nigeria but not Tammy. osimen is the starter for now and currently the highest goalscorer in the French Lig 1. His work rate is unbelievable

A dele Ali got injured and when he came back he lost his stop.. a chambaline got injured on coming back lost his stop.. same with a welbeck.. If those boys gets injured they are good as gone…

  • Abraham substituted on now. His fate is hereby sealed now. Pity for him. Czech leads 2-1. I’m rooting for Czech.

The much talked about Tammy is now a confirmed England national team player… The talk has ended.
Now I shift my focus to tomori, I don’t see this guy getting a chance, there are so many defenders ahead of him, anyway I wish he was the one cap tied today

An Headline reads “Tammy Abraham plays 2 minutes for England” and I laughed the hell out of me.. lol!
Imagine that young and non-sensible kid to me killing his own International Career. He’s not learning from the past. He can’t see the what the future holds for him. He’s surrounded by Cunny English men and they keep on deceiving him including Lampard. Finally, he’s been cap tied. My attention now sheeps to that other Mutunla that should by now sense England is not for him which is Fikayo Tomori!

That guy can never be a regular at England! No doubt about that. Who does he think he is?? Based on form, He’s better than the two English defenders that started ahead of him today(Keane and Maguire). We can all see how those two flopped badly today but there was no way Southgate would bench any white defender for him…Never! Hope someone would give him the right advise. If he now finally accepts to play for Nigeria, He should come out with Public Apology for all his Dirty talks he gave after his England call up towards Nigeria. Else, we don’t want him because he is not bigger than any of our present Defenders: Ekong, Semi Ajayi and Omeruo.

As for Billing, I don’t even know who raised the calming dust again! I guess it was Iwobi..lol. We don’t need him.. Infact, to hell with all of them! They are not bigger than our players. They are not bigger than Nigeria. Billing, please focus on your Denmark. Thank you

  • At the moment Naija only needs people who have the INTENSE DFSIRE to play for her, and no less. To be counted worthy to put on the national colours is an honour in itself. I keep begging Oga Rohr to play me as a defender for two minutes against teams like Lesotho in a friendly, but he won’t. Still waiting to become a star!

  • Cyril Dessers..5 goals in 7 games is begging for call up..we are busy looking for lazy players that are scared for competitions. Abraham ran for Osimhen, Billing for Indidi, Tomori for Ekong, Ajayi.

  • Abraham and tomori you should have played for your parent country, rather u went to play for another country, and you see now u are only playing 2 minutes for england,u see now why we ask u to com and play for nigeria, how wish u come to play for nigeria u might even be playing up to 90 minutes, the wigh white were just decieving u just for u to come to d england, and u know the white can only put there player instead of puting abraham and tomori, the advice i just have for u is that come back to your parent country so that u might have game time, even though you do not want to come nigeria we still have the likes 6of osimhen, iwobi, ndidi, bonaventure, aribo, maja, etebo, chujkw eze, lkalu

Tammy Abraham England messi how market yestday

  • The white would not allow u to take their player but they can take another country player they would try by force saying good things about the player just for the player to come to england.

  • The white would not allow u to take their player but they can take another country player they would try by force saying good things about the player just for the player to come to england. Is it not true.
