Former Remo forward, Elijah Ogundana, was not included in Flamengo’s squad as they lost 2-0 at home to Fluminense in the Brazilian Serie A (topflight) on Friday.
In-form Flamengo went into the game hoping to make it four straight wins but fell short as Fluminense came out tops.
The defeat leaves Flamengo in fourth place on 51 points, nine points from leaders Botafogo after 29 games.
Ogundana is yet to make a first team appearance for the Brazilian giants since joining them.
His only involvement in the first team was on August 18 as he made the bench in Flamengo’s 4-1 away defeat to Botafogo.
The 19-year-old forward has only featured for the U-20 side where he has scored four goals, made three assists in 16 games in the CBF Brasileiro (youth league).
While in the U-20 Libertadores (South American youth Champions League), he has one goal, one assist in four games.
Ogundana initially joined Flamengo on loan from Remo in July 2023 before the move was made permanent in August 2024 after signing a three-year deal.
Ogundana attracted interest from Flamengo officials during the Viareggio youth tournament in Italy in 2023.
