2023 AFCON: Super Eagles Drawn Against Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Completesports.com reports.

The pairings was confirmed after the draw was held at the Parc des Expositions d’Abidjan in Abidjan on Friday, 12 October 2023 with the 24 teams drawn into six groups of four.

The last time the Super Eagles and Côte d’Ivoire met at the AFCON was in the quarter-finals of the 2013 edition in South Africa.

Goals from Emmanuel Emenike and Sunday Mba secured a 2-1 win for the Eagles.

At the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, the Eagles beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their final group game thanks to goals from Umar Sadiq and William Troost-Ekong.

For Equatorial Guinea, this is the first time they will face the Eagles at the AFCON.

WHY DID SADIO MANE PAUSE BEFORE PICKING THE BALL. I SUSPECT FOUL PLAY, HE OBVIOUSLY KNEW WHICH BALL WAS NIGERIA AND DIDN’T WANT THEM PLAYING SENEGAL. ANYWAYS ALL THE BEST TO THE TEAMS.

Easy group for Nigeria aside the host we shouldn’t have a problem picking one of the available two tickets. Senegal and Cameroon has a difficult group with equally difficult opponents, South Africa also has a nightmarish group with their rivals the Namibia seeming to be the lowest ranked in the group yet very difficult from South Africa to draw against talkless of winning.

A somewhat tough group and a good test for us in the group stages.  Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau will make things complicated for both Ivory Coast and Nigeria. The match between the SuperEagles and Le Elephants will most likely be the game of the group stage if not the game of the tournament. Oya Ẹ Liṣo Libẹ. Ẹ jẹ kan ma bọwa. Countdown to Côte d’Ivoire. FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE. VAMOS ARRIBBA SUPEREAGLES!!!!
