Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi could not replicate his scoring feat last weekend following Mainz 5-0 home defeat to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Sunday, Completesports.com reports.
Just like last weekend, Awoniyi came off the bench but could not help his team from the heavy defeat in the hands of Leipzig.
The Liverpool on loan player was brought on in the 61st minute of the game.

Also in action was England-born Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, who came on 70 minutes for his seventh league outing.
A hat-trick from Timo Werner in the 11th, 48th and 75th minutes and a goal each from Yusuf Poulsen (23rd minute) and Marcel Sabitzer (36th minute), earned Leipzig the big win.
Mainz are now 15th on 27 points and are just three points above the relegation play-off position on the log.
For Leipzig, the move up to third place on 54 points and are seven points away from leaders Bayern Munich.
