Bundesliga: Awoniyi Scores As Union Berlin Edge Eintracht Frankfurt

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi was at his best mettle as he netted a goal in Union Berlin’s 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in Sunday’s Bundesliga game.

Awoniyi put the home team ahead in the 19th minute with a fine finish before Grischa Proemel added the second goal in the 21st minute.

It was the Nigerian international’s 12th goal in 26 appearances for Union Berlin this season.

However, he was substituted in the 81st minute for Sven Michel after a decent performance.

The win move Berlin to 6th on 47 points while Eintracht Frankfurt sit 10th on 39 points in the Bundesliga table.

  • Awoniyi, you will soon get your best chance in the Eagles. You were superb today in that match. Our useless midfield and wingers that cannot give killer passes or crosses is the cause of all you strikers problem in the Eagles.

  • Awoniyi’s hold up play is very strong…..He also has plenty of pace in his legs….. Awoniyi has matured beyond my expectations…..he still needs to step up his finishing but he is still young for a striker and the bundeliga has really helped his development…..See you in the EPL next season.

  • That’s the problem we have in this country.
Already we have Osimhen standby, Dessers news came up 2-3 days ago we saw him as the best after Osimhen, now Awoniyi performed, here we are talking about him, tommorow, may be it’s Dennis or Onuachu or Sadiq even when Solanke finally make switch..and at the end, we’ll need just 2-3 main striker

    • We finally failed with our own 2 years ago

Why do you just think Osihmen is the best,Awoniyi stats is very impressive….so u think these guys are looking for to be backup to osihmen. With the recent failure to qualify,I think nobody has a guaranteed shirt going forward

What an objective comment. OSIMHEN had more than 180 mins over two legs with no shot on target bar the disallowed goal!

AWONIYI stats for SE are impressive. Even under ROHR where he had a solitary cap, he had 1 shot on target in the few minutes he played

Under EGUAVOEN in 3 matches he scored 1, made 1 direct assist and 1 indirect assist

Yet people don’t give him the credit he deserves

Once again , behold your Number 1. I hope Ike Shorunmu takes note.

That Callous GK coach Alloy Agu was clearly clueless, only if they had heeded , we might have lifted the trophy and be on our way to Qatar .

Brotherman Golden goose, I and I know that Adeleye is struggling in the Israel first division. He has been second choice for over seven games now since he leaked tons of goals. Is it that kind of poor goalkeeper that you want for the Super Eagles? I tire o. Babylon, most of Adeleye’s best clips were in Isreal division 2 football. He has struggled big time in the senior league.
Be careful what we wish for, brotherman.

@Golden Child ; kudos for this expository video. Watching this awesome display by the goalkeeper, ( great reflexes, confidence, good ball control , organized defence and composure) ; it is the manifestation of why Nigeria is the gold medallist in corruption

That an Eyimba club bench warming goalkeeper John Noble invitation is guaranteed where this guy can’t smell SE camp should tell us that our football cannot move forward if the corrupt NFF are not sent to jail .

Why would you put blame of non invitation to this guy only on Aloy Agu , was he the Chief Coach ? What of Oga Rohr that spent over half decade without purpose

Hello Mr fancypants. Either Adeleye is a poor goalkeeper or I am going to give you some spicy peanuts. But I have run out of peanuts. . Lolzzzz Za Za Za Za Za Za Za Za
