Bundesliga: Boniface Nets Brace In Bayer Leverkusen’s Derby Win

Victor Boniface grabbed a brace as Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0 in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

The 22-year-old registered an assist on his debut for Leverkusen last weekend.

The Nigerian scored the curtain raiser on 18 minutes at the Stadion im BORUSSIA-PARK.

Boniface nodded home after he was set up by Alejandro Grimaldo’s header.

Jonathan Tah doubled Leverkusen’s advantage late in the first half.

Boniface added the third in the 53rd minute.

The 22-year-old applied a deft finish following a delightful pass from Florian Writz.

He was replaced by Gustavo Puerta two minutes from time.

  • Nigeria is blessed with strikers while we need good midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers
Kudos to Boniface, more power to your elbow and wishing you injury free season

    WHAT A GREAT STRIKER!
    WHAT A GOOD GOAL !!!
SUPER EAGLE NEED A GOOD COACH

  • Boniface has a very unique link up play and hold up play as a striker……He dribbles defenders effortlessly with his body movements and welcomes his team mates into the attacking third easily……. is like having a play maker as your striker and Xavi Alonso has exploited that aspect of Boniface’s game to Help Leverkusen become stronger this season…… Boniface is definitely going to have fun in the Bundesliga this season…..For NFF not to have rewarded this dude with a call up yet is beyond me.

  • I am impressed with Boniface,I watched the highlights, and I must say he has skills, presence, pace, and ability. This era for us has too many strikers,we are spoilt for choice. We need midfielders for starters, I feel that the NFF is just a saboteur organization, are we saying in the whole world there is not one Nigerian midfielder that can help the Super Eagles???

    • There are midfielders who can help SE and they can be categorized into three groups
      1) Foreign born foreign based
      2) Home grown foreign based
      3) upcoming Age grade talents

The first consist of players who have represented other nations at age grade but can still play for us e.g Olise,Chukwuemeka, Ugochukwu,
The second consist of players who where raised in Nigeria but play their football overseas but as usual the NFF DON’T KNOW THEM e.g Alhassan yusuf, Onyedika, Akinsanmiro,Eletu,Nnadi, Samson lawal,
The third group consist of age grade talents who are destined for greatness e.g Daniel Daga,Light eke,Usman jibola,
I know most of this players are still very young and inexperienced but so also was Osimhen before and so also was Awoniyi,Umar, Boniface,Moffi,Akor, before……Now they all play in top 5 leagues and doing well……so also we will be experiencing a Midfielder boom very soon with the emergence of good Talented players in that department. …….Just that we need to fast forward the boom abit and gamble it by blooding some of these Midfielders now inorder to give more potency to the current strike force we have.
