Bundesliga Highlights From Matchday 27

While several exciting matches were played that day, Bayern and Leipzig headlined the Bundesliga Matchday 27. Dortmund emerged victorious over Wolfsburg, while Schalke’s poor form continued for the second week. Here are Bundesliga’s Matchday 27 results and highlights.

Wolfsburg vs. Borussia Dortmund

Following their victory during last week’s Revier Derby against Schalke, Borussia Dortmund gave Betway punters a reason to smile this week. Lucien Favre’s men managed to continue with their winning streak during Bundesliga’s Matchday 27, beating Wolfsburg 2-0 while away.

Wolfsburg had an upturn form before the league got suspended, and things haven’t been any better since the Bundesliga returned. The hosts suffered a 2-0 home defeat after wing-back duo Achraf Hakimi and Raphael Guerreiro scored for the visitors. Unfortunately, the hosts failed to give their opponents a strong challenge for much of the match, falling to their defeat in their 2020 Bundesliga campaign.

Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt

With Bayern looking to defend their top position in the league, Hansi Flick’s men edged out a seven-goal thriller with Eintracht Frankfurt to end the game at 5-2. While Frankfurt tried their best to hold off the hosts, Bayern dominated the game for much of the proceeding. Leon Goretzka opened Bayern’s scoring surge in the 17th minute, with Thomas Muller recording the second a few minutes later to end the first half at 2-0.

For punters who bet on German soccer league at Betway, it was evident that Bayern was going to take the win by the start of the second half. Bayern had a frantic start in the second half, with Robert Lewandoski putting his side 3-0 up before Frankfurt scored two goals within 10 minutes. However, the league leaders secured their win after Alphonso Davies scored the fourth goal, with Martin Hinteregger’s own goal putting the final scoreline at 5-2.

Borrusia Monchengladbach vs. Bayer Leverkusen

For the second time within a week, Kai Havertz bagged a brace as Leverkusen leapfrogged Monchengladbach in the third position after a 3-1 win. Havertz is said to be moving to Chelsea this summer, and the German forward is keeping himself in the shopping window after his double against Werder Bremen earlier on Monday.

The 20-year-old forward delivered the finishing touch to a solid counter-attack, giving the visitors an early goal in the seventh minute. However, Marcus Thuram equalized seven minutes into the second half, though that didn’t last long as Havertz scored a penalty after Nico Elvedi’s foul. Sven Bender later scored the last goal to secure the win for the visitors.

Mainz vs Leipzig

After playing a difficult match that ended with a draw against Freiburg during the previous week, Leipzig returned to one of the biggest Bundesliga matches on Sunday. During the game, Julian Nagelsmann came with his cylinders fully packed, pampered by his team’s victory over the hosts at the Opel Arena.

Leipzig started their scoring surge at the 11th minute, recording a total of five goals to none with ease. Liverpool-linked Timo Werner was able to record a hat-trick, with Marcel Sabitzer and Yussuf Poulsen scoring one each.
