The crime was discovered by Del Potro’s mother and sister upon their return, who then reported it to local authorities.

The intruders broke a window and stole cash, jewelry, and racquets, but spared his most prized possessions, including his 2009 US Open trophy, Olympic medals, and a Davis Cup replica.
This is not the first time the retired Argentine has been targeted; his luggage was stolen in Paris in 2013, which included a rosary from Pope Francis.
Del Potro, 37, retired in 2022 following a career heavily impacted by injuries. He is known for winning the 2009 US Open and for his successful, albeit interrupted, career.
