Borussia Dortmund are readying a summer bid for Werder Bremen midfielder Maximilian Eggestein, reports claim.
Despite still being on course to win the Bundesliga title this season, Dortmund’s lack of depth in certain positions has been exposed in recent weeks and the 3-0 Champions League loss to Tottenham Hotspur was a reminder they still have a long way to go.
It is now being claimed BVB are keeping tabs on Bremen midfielder Eggestein and a summer offer, believed to be around 20million euros, is expected to be lodged.

The 22-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 campaign and there are no signs suggesting he will be signing an extension due to interest from across Europe.
With Julian Weigl being tipped to leave Dortmund in the summer after becoming frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities, Eggestein is seen as a natural replacement.
