Cape Verde, Liberia, CAR Can’t Stop Super Eagles 2022 World Cup Ambition – Akpoborie

Former Nigerian Striker, Jonathan Akpoborie has disclosed that the Super Eagles have the firepower to overcome Cape Verde, Liberia, and Central African Republic (CAR) for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Recall that Nigeria recently qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations after rounding up their campaign unbeaten in a group that consists of Sierra Leone, Lesotho, and Benin.

With all eyes on the 2022 World Cup qualifiers scheduled to commence by May, the former Wolfsburg striker told Completesports that Nigeria will make a light walk of their opponents with the array of talents at Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr’s disposal.

“Qualification for the 2022 World Cup won’t be much stress for the Super Eagles considering the array of stars at Rohr’s disposal.

” I quite agree with you that there is no minnow any longer in Africa going by what a team like Macedonia did to Germany. However, Nigeria will definitely want to make an early mark by picking quick points to feel comfortable in the group.

“I really don’t see these teams stopping the Super Eagles regardless of who they parade because our players are more experienced and hungry for success.”

You stupidity will not end drey. Simple wisdom should tell you by now that everything was a wake up call after seeing a national team go more than a year without a win and loosing a four goals lead. Sometimes i feel you just have a loosed mouth or very poor mentality that is why you continually fool around with your kinds. If these guys come out and praise the players after improvement you’ll talk nonsense and if they stay calm you’ll talk shit as well that they are on the hide. Drey you’re just a stupid boy its that simple. Get a life so you’ll be honest….

Who stop Nigeria 2006 world cup ambition?

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hahahaha…..no mind them. Help us remind them we had Angola, Rwanda, Gabon, Zimbabwe, Algeria (with mostly JS Kabiyle and USM Algiers players back then) and couldn’t qualify for world cup with fire power like Kanu, Aghaowa, Obagoal, Yakubu, Jayjay, Utaka, Ayo Makinwa

Why do we keep saying “There are no minnows in football?” Why do we look for ready-made excuses should things go wrong. Let’s not deceive ourselves, some countries have never won anything and deserve to be called minnows. I do not see why or how Liberia or Central African Republic should beat Nigeria anywhere. There is no history to support this hypothesis

What will be played fron June to September this year is a 2nd round. The 10 Group winners will be paired in 5 home and away games to decide the African qualifiers to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Finals. Tougher opponents should be expected.

    • Chima E Samuels 3 years ago

That’s right. We need to get our facts right and pass the first phase.
